Cormorants are seabirds common along the coastline and can easily be spotted drying their wings on rocks although the stock isn't big. Most of them can be found in Breidafjordur in West Iceland. They are good divers and can dive very deep to fish. Cormorants are hunted from 1/9 to 15/3 and are quite popular in restaurants as they are very tasteful. These are big birds 80 cm long and weight 3100-4300 g. The eggs are 5 or 6 and their nests are unplesant and dirty heaps sometimes decorated by dead crabs and such.
