The White-beaked dolphin is a familiar sight to all Icelandic Fishermen. This large, rather heavy set dolphin is common around Iceland both inshore and further out. They travel mostly in small family groups, like so many other species of dolphins, but groups of many hundreds are occasionally seen. White beaks will bow ride but not for extended periods of time. The playful nature of dolphins is often evident with breaching and tail slapping.
