The mountain ridge on the east side of Herad, the biggest flatland in The East Fjords. That ridge is around 40 km long and the peaks about 1200 m. The road to Borgarfjordur goes through a mountain pass on the left close to the sea. Borgarfjordur and the highlands past it are very beautiful and should be included in a tour of the area.
