The East Fjords have many interesting things other than the most obvious parts of the landscape. There is quite a lot of woodland there mainly around Lake Logurinn and Egilstadir. There are countless places for those interested in geology as the oldest parts of the country can be seen there and all the newer layers above too. The area is also rich with different sorts of rock and some very interesting stone collections are open to tourists. But maybe the best part is the atmosphere of the area intriguing and mysterious, leaving nobody travelling in the area untouched.
