The fjord Hamarsfjordur is a small fjord and one of few in The East Fjords that hasn't got a town. A valley with the same name, Hamarsdalur (dalur/valley instead of fjordur/fjord), goes a long way into the mountains. The layers in the mountains show the downward slope toward the middle of the country and the oldest rock is about 13 million years old.		Close window
