Glaciers cover a good slice of Iceland among them Vatnajokull glacier the biggest glacier in Europe and one of the biggest in the world 8300 square kilometres. On one of the peaks near the middle of this glacier are huts that are heated by geothermal activity underneath the glacier. They offer incredible things from the crystal clear ice, several thousand years old, inside the ice caves to the raw, dangerous power of the glacial rivers, not to mention when the glaciers rush forward crushing everything in its way. There are three main glaciers in the highlands and several smaller ones. They are all very different just as snow can be very different and they are all amazing and very beautiful.
