In many places in the highlands hot springs can be found. Many areas are very hot with steam oozing from the ground and in some places there is one hot pool and nothing else where it is last expected. Many of the hot pools have been used for hot tubs and bathing and it is one of the things visitors find the most interesting when travelling in the highlands. This is just as popular in winter. Sitting in a natural hot pool in a blizzard somewhere in the middle of nowhere is quite an experience. From The Geysir himself to the smallest boiling mudhole these natural phenomena are always pleasing to watch and full of surprises.
