Once again what can I say? Countless rivers flow through the highlands from little brooks with very clean water to monstrous glacier rivers. They sometimes cross the roads and they are dangerous. Many people have been killed in them both trying to cross in cars and on foot. Bridges have been built over the worst ones but care and respect for their power is a must. The longest is Thjorsa river flowing some 230 km from the highlands to the south coast and the big ones in the north east highlands have made magnificent canyons sometimes hundreds of meters deep.
