North Iceland doesn't have many glaciers. Only a few very small glaciers can be found in the mountains between Skagafjordur and Eyjafjordur and they are neither very noticeable nor easily accessible. There is geothermal activity in many places and hot water is used for house heating, greenhouses, swimming pools and such.
