The view to the east side of Öxarfjördur, a 25 km wide bay with only one small village, Kópasker on the east side. The area south of the bay has such natural treasures as Ásbyrgi and the magnificent canyons made by the river Jökulsá á Fjöllum. Ásbyrgi is a rock enclosure with 100 metres high cliffs around it. It is shaped like a horseshoe and an old explanation is that it's a hoof print made by Sleipnir, Odin's horse.
