The fjords of Northeast Iceland are very big and open to the seas of the Arctic Ocean. The fjords are quite different and each one offers many opportunities to tourists especially those seeking peace and quiet in a relatively untouched areas. The towns in these fjords are usually small and there is a lot of wide open space around the fjords matching their great size. Some of the towns offer angling or boat trips and there are many whales in these waters so whale watchers are sure to be pleased.
