Northeast Iceland has such natural treasures as Lake Myvatn, Jokulsa river, Namaskard, Mt. Herdubreid; the list is almost endless. It is simply beautiful. As in most parts of the country tourism is growing and every year there are more possibilities to choose from. From there the northeast highlands can be reached. There are places there, where even after countless visits I stand in awe at the beauty of the region. Not to forget the coastline with it's huge bays and rather small fishing towns but certainly worth a visit.
