North of the south plains where the highlands take over, Langjökull glacier and it's smaller glaciers dominate the landscape. There is a road, from Thingvellir to Húsafell and usable by all cars, on the other side of these glaciers. From that road it's not to far to the glaciers and some excellent hiking routes can be found there.		Close window
