In South Iceland the countryside has many faces. In most places it's fertile and good for farming but there are also parts with rough lava or black sands. There are huge areas of wetland, quite some shrubland, canyons, gravel surface and many different things that characterise the land without being to noticeable. It is a very good region for tourists because there are so many different things to see in a relatively small area. One of the great advantages of the area is that in these parts almost every kind of natural environment is within reasonable distance and there are usually good roads suitable for all types of cars.
