This is hikers paradise. The mountains north of Lón, just east of the town Höfn, are perfect for hikes and drives alike. There is a road that goes well into the mountains but the rivers can be dangerous. It's still a very nice drive to the rivers either side of the valley but for those going further a scheduled tour with one of the operators in the area might be a better idea. From the end of the road, or anywhere else in the area, it's hiking heaven with bridges over the worst obstacles.		Close window
