West Iceland has many walleys. In fact the north part of the area is named 'Walleys' or Dalir in icelandic because of the great number of walleys in the region. Also the east part of Borgarfjordur area has many smooth walleys side by side that extend up to the highlands. The mountain ridge along the Snæfellsnes peninsula is all gorged with walleys especially the east part. Some of them have big lakes like Langavatn and Hitarvatn and they are worth a look. Trout fishing is popular in these lakes and cheap as well.
