Hornstrandir have been declared a nature reserve. The area is deserted and is a paradise for hikers. It has rich vegetation, more than one would expect this far north. The two inlets here are Fljotavik and Rekavik. There are lakes in both the walleys and they were inhabited until the middle of this century.		Close window
