The West Fjords have many rivers and creeks but few of them are big. As there is little lowland the rivers fall of or flow out of the mountains and have but a short distance to go to the sea. There are however quite a few nice waterfalls the biggest and most famous being Dynjandi. These small size rivers actually make the region easier for hikers as they aren't bad obstacles as the big rivers in other parts of the country.
