There is a lot of valleyes in The West Fjords. Every fjord has many. These are mostly valleys carved out by the glaciers of the ice age when the ice cap covered the West Fjords and the ice flowed towards the sea, making all these valleyes and fjords in the process. They come in all shapes and sizes and hiking has become increasingly popular in the area, especially in the now deserted place Hornstrandir. These hikes usually take several days and they start with a boat trip across Isafjardardjup fjord and they are truly exiting adventures.
