Iceland Worldwide is an information website about Iceland. It is made for everybody that are interested in the country, it's nature, the sagas and the people. It is set up with the traveller in mind. The site has two main  categories that are made as independent websites. The part called Iceland Worldwide is an image bank organized in categories under 9 different parts of the country. There are also virtual tours of some of the best known places. Galleries with shows and series of the people and their activities can be found along with information about many topics such as nature, history, geology and even the supernatural. Birds, fish and animals are present in the form of paintings by the excellent and well known artist Jón Baldur Hlídberg. This part of the website is linked with the Yellow pages a comprehensive listings of available services for the tourist. The Yellow pages can be used independently and is set up with speed and ease of use in mind. Here you can find accommodation, restaurants, rentals, transport, museums and also activities like glacier tours, rafting, fishing and such. The services are categorized by the same 9 parts of the country as the content in Iceland Worldwide and can also be accessed from there. All the images are prepared so they are less than 30k and most of them are. The pages are between 20-40k. This should result in short loading time and pleasurable browsing. Enjoy.
The author and owner of Iceland Worldwide is Jóhann Ísberg who is also responsible for most of the photographs. His archives contain more than 200.000 photographs some of those available on this website  now or in the near future. Jóhann is an active outdoorsman and has extensively travelled around Iceland for more than 2 decades pursuing his many interests. Among those, besides photography, are hang-gliding(where he is the national champion for the last 3 years), hunting, and travelling the highlands especially during the winter. His travels have taken him to all parts of his beloved country and covered a lot of mileage. Jóhann has also developed methods to digitally stitch many individual frames together to form a very special high resolution panoramas. This type of photographs are not available with any other technique, and give unique perspective especially when applied to aerial photography. Some of these panoramas can be seen on the opening pages for the parts and categories of the website.
