Merlin, Pigeon Hawk
The Merlin is a close relative of the Gyr Falcon but a lot smaller. Both bigger and darker than it's European cousin most of the icelandic population migrates to Great Britain. The Merlin is found all over the country but there probably aren't much more than 1000-1200 breeding pairs in the whole country. Their food is almost exclusively birds mostly passerines and waders. The Merlin is a flying artist and the grim act when the bird is chasing it's prey is an exiting experience where the Merlin is more often than not the winner.
